Six Crypto Exchanges Face Kazakhstan Court-Imposed Restrictions, Including Coinbase and BingX
A judicial decision impacts six cryptocurrency exchanges, among them Coinbase and BingX, with restrictions extending to app store availability through Apple and Google in Kazakhstan.

The Astana International Financial Centre court (AIFC) in Kazakhstan has issued prohibitions against six cryptocurrency platforms, barring them from providing digital-asset services in the jurisdiction without proper licensing, while also implementing restrictions that affect app store access.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Astana Financial Services Authority (AFSA) announced that the court had granted injunctions following legal action initiated by the regulator against cryptocurrency platform operators accused of providing digital-asset services without proper authorization.
The court order, dated Sept. 15, specifically identified BingX, Bitcoin.com, Huobi Global (HTX), BitMart, Coinbase, LBank and WEEX as the affected platforms; however, an amendment issued three days later excluded LBank from the list after the platform's operator implemented access restrictions in Kazakhstan.
The injunctions also encompass Google and Apple in their capacity as app-store operators, implementing geographical access limitations to the platforms that remain on the list, the announcement confirmed.
According to AFSA, individuals utilizing unlicensed platforms are deprived of the protective measures mandated for licensed operators, which include asset protection protocols, transparency requirements, complaint resolution procedures and dispute settlement mechanisms. The National Bank of Kazakhstan maintains oversight of digital-asset service providers operating beyond the AIFC's jurisdiction.
Attempts by Cointelegraph to obtain statements from BingX, Coinbase and Huobi Global had not received responses at the time of publication.
This court decision is the result of extensive and consistent efforts by AFSA's Supervision and Enforcement teams to address the activities of unlicensed crypto platforms that were advertising without authorization and offering digital asset-related services in Kazakhstan without the required permission.

The regulatory authority disclosed that it had issued warnings to more than 20 cryptocurrency platforms regarding AIFC regulatory requirements in 2025. Nine platforms voluntarily implemented access restrictions within the Central Asian nation, while seven expressed their intention to pursue licensing. The authority subsequently withdrew its legal claims against the nine compliant platforms, whereas the injunctions remain in effect against the six remaining platforms.
As previously documented by Cointelegraph, the country's Financial Monitoring Agency implemented access blocks in 2023 affecting nearly 1,000 cryptocurrency exchanges that were providing services to Kazakhstani citizens without obtaining the necessary registration.
