Solana Foundation unveils DvP solution for instant financial settlements
Financial institutions gain access to Solana DvP, an open-source settlement platform engineered to execute asset transfers and payments within seconds.

On Tuesday, the Solana Foundation revealed the introduction of Solana DvP, a settlement program built on open-source technology for financial institutions seeking to dramatically reduce settlement timeframes.
The Solana DvP platform provides financial institutions with an open-source application programming interface designed specifically for delivery-versus-payment (DvP) settlement capabilities on the Solana blockchain.
According to the Solana Foundation's press release, the program is engineered to dramatically reduce securities settlement periods from the traditional one to two days down to mere seconds through the execution of atomic transactions that simultaneously transfer both assets and payment in a single operation that either executes completely or fails entirely. The solution is structured to provide institutions with a standardized, reusable framework that eliminates the need for developing custom smart contracts.
This settlement standard represents the kind of "foundational infrastructure" that institutional market participants require to "operate at scale without introducing settlement risk and counterparty exposure," according to Rhodel D'Souza, head of markets digital assets at JPMorgan. During the development phase of Solana DvP, the bank contributed valuable insights regarding institutional settlement practices and regulatory requirements.
This announcement builds upon ongoing industry initiatives focused on accelerating financial settlement processes through blockchain infrastructure. In June 2025, a collaborative cross-chain DvP pilot was successfully completed by Chainlink, JPMorgan's Kinexys and Ondo Finance, which involved Ondo's tokenized US Treasury fund and payment processing through Kinexys.
Just one day earlier on Monday, Payward, the parent company of Kraken, announced a partnership with Singapore Gulf Bank designed to facilitate round-the-clock US dollar settlement capabilities for selected institutional clients operating in Asia and the Gulf region.
