ESMA's MiCA register welcomes BingX and YouHodler in recent expansion

The latest expansion of ESMA's MiCA register sees the addition of BingX, YouHodler, and Banco Santander's Openbank, pushing the count to 375 distinct CASPs.

Nine additional crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) have been incorporated into the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) register, with BingX among the new entrants, elevating the cumulative count to 375 distinct providers.

The register update published Friday by the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) featured the Austrian operation of crypto exchange BingX, known as MEGE zweite. The update also incorporated YouHodler's Italian branch, a platform specializing in crypto lending and yield-generating products, with permissions granted for custody services, crypto exchange operations, order execution capabilities and transfer functions.

Announcements regarding their regulatory approvals were made by both BingX and YouHodler during the previous week. According to BingX EU CEO Daniel Lai, the authorization grants the company the ability to function within a transparent regulatory structure as it gears up to introduce regulated offerings throughout the European Economic Area.

Among the additional entries was Spain's Prakma Markets, linked to the Goin crypto application, which manages a platform dedicated to savings and investment services.

The German entries featured Openbank Deutschland, an operational subsidiary of the Spanish financial institution Banco Santander, together with cooperative banking institutions VR-Bank Alb-Blau-Donau and VR Bank im südlichen Franken.

Denmark's Penning Financial Services has been removed from the listing, notwithstanding its presence in register updates going back to July 3.

The register for e-money tokens (EMT) showed no modifications, maintaining 50 entries that represent 25 distinct entities, whereas the asset-referenced token (ART) register continued to have no listings. Meanwhile, the register documenting non-compliant crypto-asset service providers (NCASPs) grew by five additional entries, reaching a total of 178.
