New Pump.fun rewards system incentivizes outrageous stunts and permanent token tattoos

A newly launched bounty system on Pump.fun has users financing outlandish memecoin promotional activities, ranging from permanent forehead tattoos to skydiving stunts in costume and vehicle destruction.

The Solana blockchain-based memecoin launching platform Pump.fun has unveiled an open bounty system that allows participants to post cryptocurrency-based rewards for unconventional marketing activities, including getting permanent tattoos of memecoin ticker symbols, broadcasting live resignations from employment, or attempting to skydive into a World Cup sporting event.

The platform was rolled out by Pump.fun on Thursday, marketed as a global marketplace designed to "complete bounties for ANY task and leverage the power of humans & money across the globe." User submissions undergo review by Pump.fun staff during an escrow period. Upon approval, the posted reward amount is transferred to the individual who completed the task.

According to Pump.fun's Terms and Conditions documentation, the platform explicitly prohibits bounties that "may be deemed as spam by X" from being posted on the service.

Among the most lucrative opportunities posted were a bounty worth approximately $57,000 for parachuting into a World Cup match while dressed in a memecoin mascot outfit, a $25,000 reward for conducting an interview with the family members of Henry Nowak's killer, and $3,000 for broadcasting a live resignation from one's employment.

Multiple postings examined by Cointelegraph presented thousands of dollars in compensation for dangerous or humiliating marketing activities, sparking concerns regarding platform oversight, participant welfare and potential legal ramifications.

The platform enables users to organize available bounties according to the size of the reward offered, remaining time until expiration, or by the number of submissions each bounty has accumulated thus far.

Each posted bounty operates on a deadline-based system and provides detailed specifications outlining the precise requirements that must be met to successfully complete the assignment and receive payment.

The recently launched bounty platform has already begun drawing listings aimed at financing extraordinary marketing campaigns for memecoins.

One particular assignment presented a $3,572 reward for spray painting the ticker symbol "$memecoin" onto an automobile before igniting it, allowing 29 days for completion of the challenge while dressed in a memecoin mascot costume and documenting the entire procedure on video.

To date, this particular task has generated four submissions from individuals who have completed the permanent facial tattoo.
