Fairshake-Affiliated PAC Reduces Media Investment in Massachusetts Congressional Race

Fairshake's affiliated organization invested $189,000 in media campaigns backing Representative Jake Auchincloss, representing the crypto-funded PAC's continued efforts to shape the 2026 electoral landscape.

Protect Progress PAC, an organization affiliated with Fairshake — the political action committee that deployed over $130 million toward advertising and media campaigns during the 2024 election cycle — is backing a candidate in Massachusetts ahead of Tuesday's primary election.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings available as of Tuesday reveal that Protect Progress PAC, operating as a Fairshake affiliate, allocated slightly more than $189,000 toward media expenditures backing Representative Jake Auchincloss in his reelection bid for Massachusetts' 4th congressional district. According to Democratic challenger Jason Poulos, portions of these expenditures funded what he describes as "AI-generated slop mailers" promoting Auchincloss in advance of Tuesday's scheduled Massachusetts primary.

Through a letter dated Aug. 16, Poulos urged the Democratic congressman to "publicly renounce" the involvement of Protect Progress in potentially swaying both the primary and general election outcomes. Poulos asserted that Auchincloss had received $77,500 in direct contributions from "crypto-industry sources" beginning in 2020, highlighting the Massachusetts representative's voting record in favor of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act this past July 2025 — a market structure legislation that remains unsigned into law while pending Senate review.

The $189,000 expenditure represents Fairshake's most recent effort to shape the 2026 electoral contests via media and advertising campaigns that don't directly address candidates' stances on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Following the PAC and its associated entities' approximately $3.6 million investment in Congressional races across Alaska, Florida and Wyoming throughout August, Fairshake disclosed maintaining $122 million in available cash reserves in preparation for the 2026 midterm elections.

With dozens of wins in House and Senate races across the country, and $122 million ready for the fall, we're not slowing down heading into November.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts ranks among the final US states conducting primary elections, with barely more than two months remaining before the general election takes place. The states of New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Delaware have all scheduled their primary elections for September.
