Token2049 pushes back Dubai conference to 2027 due to regional instability

The Dubai edition of TOKEN2049 will now take place in April 2027 instead of 2026, with organizers pointing to regional instability as the reason. Current ticket holders can use them for the new date or switch to Singapore.

Token2049's Dubai conference, recognized as among the cryptocurrency sector's most significant international events, has been rescheduled to 2027 as regional instability continues to impact cross-border travel and the logistics of hosting major events.

On Friday, event organizers announced that the conference, which was initially set for April 29-30 in Dubai, has been moved to April 21-22, 2027.

According to the announcement, organizers had been moving forward with arrangements for the 2026 event but ultimately determined that rescheduling the conference would better preserve the magnitude and standard of excellence associated with the gathering while ensuring safe conditions for industry participants to convene.

This decision represents a change in direction from statements made earlier in the week, when a representative for Token2049 informed Fortune that planning for the Dubai conference was moving ahead as scheduled and that registration numbers were approaching capacity for a sold-out event.

The Token2049 team was contacted by Cointelegraph for verification, though no immediate response was provided.

Middle East travel faces disruption from regional tensions

Throughout the United Arab Emirates, travel has continued to face disruptions due to regional airspace limitations following the start of the US-Israel war on Iran on Feb. 28.

According to Gulf News reporting on Friday, airlines including Emirates, Etihad, flydubai and Air Arabia have been running reduced or modified flight schedules, with travelers being advised to make trips only when holding confirmed reservations.
