Crypto.com CEO Announces SEC Approval for OG.com's Single-Stock Futures Trading

The chief executive of Crypto.com announced that OG.com, a sister platform, has obtained regulatory clearance to provide single-stock perpetual futures to United States traders, marking another step in merging traditional finance with cryptocurrency markets.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has granted OG.com the regulatory clearance required to provide single-stock futures trading services to American investors.

In a Thursday post on X, Kris Marszalek, who serves as both co-founder and chief executive officer of crypto.com, revealed that the company's affiliated futures trading platform has secured regulatory clearance from authorities to introduce single-stock futures offerings to the United States market.

According to the announcement, the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has formally acknowledged the 1-N filing submitted by OG.com, effectively granting the exchange permission to provide single-stock futures trading services to customers in the United States.

According to Marszalek, the company is collaborating closely with both the securities regulator and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to bring single-stock perpetual futures to market that merge the "innovations of the digital asset markets with the US capital markets."

This acknowledgement from regulators represents the clearing of a major regulatory obstacle for the trading platform, paving the way for it to introduce these financial products to American customers. The legal entity operating OG.com, known as North American Derivatives Exchange, submitted its Form 1-N documentation to the SEC earlier this week on Monday, seeking official registration as a national securities exchange with the authority to facilitate trading in futures-based products.

Several cryptocurrency trading platforms have also introduced their own equity trading products to users. Reports indicate that in September, Kraken entered into a partnership agreement with the London Stock Exchange to introduce tokenized versions of UK equities with round-the-clock availability five days per week on the stock exchange operator's after-hours trading platform, with services expected to commence in 2027.

Back in March, the cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase introduced stock perpetual futures contracts targeting traders outside the United States, following its earlier launch of regulated cryptocurrency futures products and 24/5 cash equity trading access for American customers in February.
