Major Financial Institutions Including Wells Fargo Challenge OKXICE Tokenized Securities Plan: Report
By Friday's close, a total of 22 corporations had submitted formal objections to the collaborative venture's planned tokenized equity platform operating under the SEC's innovation exemption program.

An additional half-dozen corporations have now reportedly submitted formal objections against the tokenization of their equity securities on a planned trading platform that represents a collaborative effort between digital asset exchange OKX and the Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), which serves as the parent organization of the New York Stock Exchange.
Based on reporting from Reuters published this past Friday, the planned equity trading platform known as OKXICE now faces objections from a cumulative total of 22 corporations that oppose the tokenization of their United States stock listings. The latest wave of objections reportedly encompasses Wells Fargo, Arm Holdings and Intuit, joining the ranks of Microsoft and Alphabet, which operates as Google's parent corporation, in expressing opposition over the previous seven days.
It bears mentioning that among the objecting companies, 16 maintain their primary listings on Nasdaq, whereas a mere six of the securities are traded on the NYSE. In September, Nasdaq published official guidance directed toward corporations evaluating participation in the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) innovation exemption program designed for tokenized stock trading, emphasizing that issuers "must be cautious about their participation," and warning that "consequences for liquidity, price discovery, and long-term shareholder value may not become apparent until well after the experiment is underway."
In a statement provided to Cointelegraph this past Tuesday, Andrew Cuomo, who serves as OKXICE co-chair and previously held office as New York Governor, indicated that the company had anticipated receiving additional objections as organizations attempt to avoid becoming early adopters testing this novel stock model. The collaborative venture initially put forward 62 corporations for tokenized stock listings in its submission to the SEC during the earlier part of this month.
Cointelegraph attempted to contact Intuit seeking commentary regarding the corporation's choice to withdraw from participation in the initiative, however no immediate response was forthcoming. Representatives speaking on behalf of Wells Fargo and Arm Holdings refused to provide commentary.
