Quick-Thinking Polymarket User Banks $67K Following UFC Winner Announcement Error
Following an incorrect winner announcement at a UFC event, a Polymarket user capitalized on the mistake by purchasing 1-cent shares of the actual victor, ultimately securing a 100x return worth approximately $67,000.

An opportunistic Polymarket user transformed a $676 investment into $67,608 this past Saturday by taking advantage of an unusual error that occurred during a UFC heavyweight matchup, in which the incorrect combatant was initially declared victorious.
The individual, identified as LlamaEnjoyer on the Polymarket platform and Verrissimus on the social media platform X, observed the live matchup between fighters Tyrell Fortune and Marcin Tybura and had a hunch that an error might have occurred when UFC announcer Bruce Buffer proclaimed Tybura as the victor of the bout.
In that brief window of time, shares for Fortune on Polymarket plummeted to a value of one cent, and LlamaEnjoyer managed to execute the $676 wager just moments before Buffer issued a correction and announced Fortune as the actual winner.
The trader netted approximately $67,000 in profit from the UFC's momentary error, securing a return on investment approaching 100x.
This occurrence demonstrates just how rapidly betting odds on prediction market platforms can fluctuate and swing dramatically during events unfolding in real time.
LlamaEnjoyer almost lost $100,000 initially
When discussing the event, the Polymarket user revealed they had nearly placed a $100,000 wager on Tybura at 99 cents per share, likely right after the initial announcement was made, before sensing that something "was off."
Cancelled my order, scooped up 1c shares instead. the UFC corrected the winner seconds later. easiest 100x ever.
According to the trader, they executed the transaction before a UFC commentator announced "We have a mistake," which indicates they completed the bet within a 50-second timeframe following Tybura's erroneous declaration as the winner.
"There's no way Tybura won that fight," LlamaEnjoyer said.
