Toyota Finance Launches Blockchain-Based Bonds for Everyday Investors Through Digital Wallet
Individual investors can purchase the 1 billion yen tokenized bond through Toyota's payment application without needing a traditional brokerage account, while also gaining access to exclusive benefits.

The financial services division of Toyota is rolling out a blockchain-based tokenized bond that individual investors can purchase directly via the automaker's digital payment application, Toyota Wallet.
In an announcement made Tuesday, Toyota Finance revealed that the application period has begun for this one-year bond offering, which requires a minimum investment of 100,000 Japanese yen ($676). This new bond offering will be sold directly by Toyota Finance itself, enabling investors to participate without the need to establish a traditional securities account.
The bond issuance totals 1 billion yen and offers holders an annual interest rate of 1.72%, with the entire infrastructure managed on blockchain technology supplied by BOOSTRY, a Japanese security-token company.
According to the automaker, this direct distribution approach enables the company to consolidate the entire process—including applications, bondholder communications, and investor rewards—all within a unified ecosystem.
Bondholders stand to gain additional value through potential Toyota Wallet balance credits and may become eligible for exclusive perks such as complimentary Fuji Speedway admission tickets and opportunities to participate in test-drive experiences, which include vehicles from the Lexus brand and curated classic Toyota models.
This bond offering represents Toyota Finance's second venture into security token bonds, coming after its inaugural issuance in March 2025, which was distributed through traditional securities companies.
