Weekly Bitcoin ETF Inflows Surge to $1.9B, Best Performance in Nearly 10 Months

Last week saw US spot Bitcoin ETFs pull in $1.92 billion, representing their most robust weekly performance since October 2025, coinciding with Bitcoin's Friday spike above $78,000.

Following several months of inconsistent capital flows, US spot Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) activity experienced a dramatic upswing last week, as market participants injected close to $2 billion into these investment vehicles while Bitcoin's valuation climbed substantially.

The week concluding on Friday witnessed Bitcoin ETFs capturing $1.92 billion in net inflows, representing their most impressive weekly showing in approximately 10 months, per data from SoSoValue.

On Sunday, ETF analyst Nate Geraci noted that spot Ether ETFs similarly drew in approximately $700 million. According to Geraci, both Bitcoin and Ether funds experienced their most substantial weekly inflows since October 2025.

This resurgence in ETF interest coincided with Bitcoin experiencing a greater than 20% increase throughout last week, momentarily climbing beyond $79,000 on Friday after opening the week trading around $63,000, based on CoinGecko data.

Bitcoin ETFs continue showing negative year-to-date flows for 2026

Notwithstanding this recent uptick, US spot Bitcoin ETFs have accumulated approximately $2.91 billion in net outflows throughout 2026 to date.

These investment products experienced their most significant monthly withdrawals during June, totaling $4.51 billion, which followed $2.43 billion in outflows throughout May. Through Friday, August has generated $2.38 billion in net inflows, establishing it as the year's most powerful month for incoming capital.

Throughout the previous significant inflow period in October 2025, these funds captured $3.42 billion. This October surge in capital preceded the crypto market crash on Oct. 10, an event that sparked the most substantial liquidation episode in the sector's history, eliminating approximately $19 billion in leveraged positions over a 24-hour period.
