Securitize Shares Surge 8% Following South Korean Tokenization Alliance
Through its collaboration with LG CNS, Securitize secures an advantageous position as South Korea's capital prepares to implement regulations for tokenized securities, including stocks, bonds and funds, starting February 2027.

The stock price of tokenization platform Securitize experienced a significant surge on Tuesday following the announcement of a strategic alliance with LG CNS, a South Korean technology firm, as the nation gears up to roll out a comprehensive regulatory framework for tokenized securities.
The shares of Securitize (SECZ) climbed approximately 8% during early Tuesday market activity, reaching levels around $12.60, surpassing the performance of most prominent cryptocurrency-related equities, though the gains moderated as the morning session progressed. Trading for the company commenced on the New York Stock Exchange in July following the completion of its business combination with special purpose acquisition company Cantor Equity Partners II.
A memorandum of understanding was executed between Securitize and LG CNS to collaborate on the development of tokenized assets and digital infrastructure solutions for financial institutions operating in South Korea. According to the companies, the collaboration will examine tokenized funds, equities and stablecoins, in addition to pursuing opportunities throughout the wider Asia-Pacific region.
The partnership announcement arrives as South Korea advances toward implementing a comprehensive regulatory framework for tokenized securities. During the previous week, the Financial Services Commission of the country put forward proposed regulations that will govern both the issuance and circulation of tokenized stocks, bonds, funds and additional securities, with implementation scheduled for February 2027.
The strategic alliance could position Securitize advantageously in the South Korean market as financial institutions make preparations for the incoming regulatory environment. In parallel with the partnership announcement, LG CNS introduced a blockchain infrastructure platform on Tuesday, specifically engineered to assist banks and other financial entities in supporting stablecoins and tokenized securities.
Stocks emerge as the next major tokenization market
Within the tokenized real-world asset sector, which has expanded to approximately $40 billion, Securitize has established itself as a leading participant. While initial expansion was predominantly concentrated on US Treasurys, private credit and other instruments that generate yield, tokenized equities are now experiencing increasing traction.
The tokenized stock marketplace has consistently achieved new record valuations as exchanges and financial institutions investigate methods for bringing conventional equities onchain. According to data from RWA.xyz, tokenized equities reached a valuation of approximately $3.2 billion, representing a 10.6% increase over the preceding 30 days.
Carlos Domingo, CEO of Securitize, has maintained that even limited adoption of tokenized stocks could generate substantially greater impact on cryptocurrency markets. During his presentation at ETHConf in July, Domingo projected that tokenized stocks have the potential to drive the total crypto market to a $5 trillion valuation.
