Blockchain Leadership Fund Reveals 2026 Midterm Election Candidate Selections with Anchorage and Chainlink Support

Records from the Federal Election Commission indicate the hybrid PAC has received just $175,000 in funding, though it plans to sway American voters via media campaigns ahead of critical state elections.

A committee dedicated to political action that has stated its mission is to "support candidates working to advance digital asset and blockchain policy in the United States" has revealed which politicians it will back in the 2026 election cycle, with the potential to shape critical electoral contests using cryptocurrency sector funding.

According to a Thursday announcement, the Blockchain Leadership Fund revealed endorsements for ten political candidates competing in the 2026 US midterm elections, with four seeking Senate positions and six pursuing seats in the House of Representatives. The PAC was established in March by Chainlink Labs and Anchorage Digital, joining other committees such as Fairshake that deployed substantial resources during the 2024 US election cycle.

Among the PAC's endorsed candidates are Republicans Barry Moore, Kurt Alme and Jon Husted, who are running for US Senate positions in Alabama, Montana and Ohio, respectively, along with Houston Gaines, Jim Kingston and Jon Bonck, who are seeking House seats in Georgia's 10th district, Georgia's 1st district and Texas' 38th district, respectively. The committee has also pledged support for Democrat Angie Craig's US Senate campaign in Minnesota, as well as Adrian Boafo, and Christian Menefee and Don Davis, who are running for House seats in Maryland, Texas, and North Carolina.

We believe constructive bipartisan participation is critical to ensuring the US remains a global leader in financial technology and the future of finance. We remain committed to supporting responsible innovation and constructive policymaking that brings digital assets further into the regulatory perimeter and strengthens trust in the ecosystem.

Established as a hybrid PAC configured to permit both direct contributions to political candidates and independent expenditures, the committee indicated it might reveal backing for additional candidates "who support responsible digital asset policy" prior to the midterm elections scheduled for November. According to Thursday's filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC), the Blockchain Leadership Fund had accumulated only $175,000 in total funding: $100,000 contributed by Anchorage and $75,000 provided by Chainlink.

The endorsements from the Blockchain Leadership Fund followed victories by several of its selected candidates in their respective primary elections held on Tuesday. Both Kingston and Gaines emerged victorious in Republican primaries held in Georgia, while Moore advanced to a runoff election for Alabama's US Senate seat after not obtaining a majority of votes cast.

Each of these three candidates had already received benefits from a total of $8.5 million in media expenditures by the Defend American Jobs PAC, an organization affiliated with Fairshake, which additionally invested approximately $350,000 in media purchases to back Bonck in Georgia. Protect Progress, another PAC connected to Fairshake, dedicated more than $4.1 million toward supporting Menefee in his Texas runoff competition against incumbent Al Green and invested more than $2 million on media campaigns for Boafo in Maryland.

Crypto spending ahead of Texas Senate race, Trump gets involved

As Menefee and Green prepare to compete head-to-head next Tuesday, financial resources from the cryptocurrency industry are simultaneously flowing into Texas regarding a Republican primary contest for one of the state's US Senate seats.

The Fellowship PAC, an $11 million committee receiving funding from Cantor Fitzgerald and Anchorage Digital, disclosed to the FEC on Wednesday its intention to spend $500,000 in support of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton for US Senate. This filing emerged more than a month following reports that Fellowship had withdrawn funding for media campaigns on Paxton's behalf in reaction to pressure from Republican leaders directed toward Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, who has connections to Cantor Fitzgerald.
