Binance.US Eyes $1 Billion Valuation Through Planned $100M Capital Raise: Report

Sources suggest the digital asset exchange was seeking to leverage the fresh capital injection to recapture competitive positioning in the market after Binance's regulatory settlement with United States authorities in 2023.

Sources indicate that Binance.US is pursuing private capital of up to $100 million through a new financing initiative that would establish the digital currency exchange's valuation at $1 billion.

A Bloomberg report published Thursday revealed that the American-based cryptocurrency trading platform is actively seeking private investment capital to support its expansion objectives. The anticipated $1 billion valuation represents a significant decline from the $4.5 billion pre-money valuation the company achieved in 2022, during which time it successfully secured $200 million through a seed financing round.

According to reports, Binance.US notified World Liberty Financial, the digital asset venture co-established by United States President Donald Trump alongside his sons, regarding the fundraising initiative, though the organization has opted not to take part in the investment opportunity. In the previous year, Binance found itself at the center of a contentious $2 billion investment transaction involving an entity with connections to United Arab Emirates royalty and World Liberty that utilized the platform's USD1 stablecoin.

The contemplated capital raising initiative is said to represent a component of Binance.US' strategic approach to reclaim competitive market position versus more substantial competitors in the wake of a 2023 resolution between Binance Holdings Ltd. and United States regulatory agencies. Under the terms of that settlement agreement, Binance Holdings committed to remitting $4.3 billion in financial penalties and submitting to enhanced monitoring and regulatory supervision, while the company's chief executive officer at that time, Changpeng Zhao, entered a guilty plea to a felony offense. Zhao completed a four-month incarceration period before obtaining a presidential pardon from Trump in 2025.
