UK Market Targeted by Caleb & Brown in Strategic Crypto Expansion

The specialized brokerage intends to serve affluent investors instead of challenging mainstream cryptocurrency trading platforms.

Caleb & Brown, a cryptocurrency brokerage firm based in Australia and owned by the Swyftx Group, has launched operations in the United Kingdom, broadening its reach to serve affluent investors beyond its existing presence in Australia and the United States.

The British market entry takes place approximately one year following the specialized digital asset brokerage's acquisition by Swyftx in 2025 through a transaction valued at over $100 million. The company's strategic focus will center on serving high-net-worth individuals throughout the UK.

Andrea Yuen, co-CEO of Swyftx Group, characterized the United Kingdom as representing an "untapped opportunity" given that cryptocurrency adoption rates remain considerably lower when measured against comparable markets.

If you compare the UK to areas like the US, Asia and Australia, the level of investing in Bitcoin and other alternative risk assets is four or even five times lower. It's a compelling growth opportunity.

According to Chainalysis' 2025 Global Crypto Adoption Index, the United Kingdom occupies the 11th position, trailing countries including Russia, the Philippines and Ukraine. In the previous year, the Financial Conduct Authority calculated that 8% of the UK population holds cryptocurrency; while this figure represented a decline from 2024, the average portfolio value among investors has risen.

The country is under-served by private client offerings in digital assets. You're talking about one of the oldest and most sophisticated financial centers in the world.

The retail crypto exchange model can feel a little jarring to some investors in that context. We think there is a significant opportunity to come in with a more personal service that offers tailored execution.
