STRC surges past $90 mark following 24% rally from late June lows

The resurgence of STRC indicates that investor worries surrounding Strategy's preferred-share framework could be subsiding, although the stock continues trading beneath the firm's $99–$100 target.

The variable-rate preferred stock of Strategy, known as STRC, finished trading above the $90 threshold for the first time in nearly two months, continuing its comeback from a late June decline that sparked questions about the Bitcoin treasury firm's financial stability.

On Monday, STRC finished the trading session at $92.32, representing a 3.2% increase from the previous Friday's closing price of $89.46, based on data from Yahoo Finance. This marked the first time the stock closed above $90 since June 16. From its June 26 low of $74.57, the stock has rallied nearly 24%.

STRC represents Strategy's perpetual preferred equity instrument featuring a variable dividend rate that undergoes monthly adjustments designed to promote trading activity near its $100 stated value. Notwithstanding the recent rally, the stock continues to trade below the organization's targeted price range of $99 to $100.

The upward movement came after Strategy implemented measures to provide support for STRC, which included divesting 1,638 Bitcoin for proceeds of $104.7 million, as revealed Monday through the company's most recent 8-K regulatory filing. The company allocated $52.4 million toward funding preferred-stock dividend payments and deployed $52.3 million for STRC share repurchases.

Additionally, Strategy generated $290.6 million in capital through sales of MSTR common shares, which included $250 million earmarked for its cash reserve and $28.9 million designated for STRC buyback operations. The company bought back 912,143 shares of STRC for a total of $81.2 million while expanding its cash reserve to $4 billion.
