Ripple introduces Mint platform to broaden RLUSD institutional adoption
Ripple unveils Mint platform to enhance institutional accessibility to RLUSD stablecoin, which now nears a $1.6 billion market capitalization.

Blockchain-oriented financial technology firm Ripple has unveiled Ripple Mint, a comprehensive platform designed to provide financial institutions with enhanced capabilities to access, mint, redeem and oversee its stablecoin pegged to the US dollar, known as Ripple USD (RLUSD).
On Thursday, the company made the announcement regarding Ripple Mint, characterizing it as an integrated platform that enables financial institutions to handle RLUSD operations via a web-based interface or through direct application programming interface (API) connectivity.
"Ripple Mint is built to give institutions flexible access to digital dollars through the workflows that fit their needs," Ripple said, adding that the platform is designed to support both manual operations and automated integrations as institutions adopt stablecoins for payments, trading and treasury activities.
The RLUSD stablecoin made its debut in December 2024 with an emphasis on serving institutional clients, though the digital asset has simultaneously attracted interest from retail market participants. The cryptocurrency has emerged as one of the more prominent US dollar-backed stablecoins measured by market capitalization, breaking into the top 10 within less than twelve months of its initial release.
The digital asset achieved its all-time high market capitalization on June 1, 2026, when it surpassed $1.8 billion, according to CoinGecko. Around the Ripple Mint launch, RLUSD's market cap briefly rose from about $1.54 billion to $1.64 billion before settling near $1.59 billion.
At the time of publication, RLUSD ranked as the ninth-largest USD-pegged stablecoin by market capitalization.
