Tron becomes founding member of Agentic AI Foundation amid AI-driven vision

The Tron network has become a member of the Linux Foundation's Agentic AI Foundation, working alongside Circle and JPMorgan to develop open infrastructure for agentic artificial intelligence.

The Tron network, founded by Justin Sun, has become a participant in the Agentic AI Foundation with the aim of preparing for and facilitating the mass adoption of artificial intelligence agents across the blockchain ecosystem.

According to a Monday announcement, the decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) behind Tron disclosed that the network has officially become a member of the Agentic AI Foundation (AAIF) and will participate as a member of its governing board structure.

According to Tron DAO, the future will bring substantial demand originating from agentic AI applications, which necessitates collaborative efforts and interoperability to build systems capable of processing "continuous, high-volume, low-value transactions efficiently at scale."

Interoperable frameworks are expected to play an important role in ensuring that AI agents can operate across platforms and services without creating fragmented ecosystems.

In the previous month, Patrick Collison, the CEO and co-founder of Stripe, along with his co-founder brother John Collison, highlighted a notable infrastructure gap within blockchain technology and emphasized that substantial scaling enhancements would be necessary to accommodate this forthcoming demand.

By supporting the development of open infrastructure through the Foundation, TRON DAO aims to contribute to collaborative standards that make AI agents easier to build, safer to operate, and more accessible.

The AAIF operates under the management of the Linux Foundation and was established to advance open-source development in agentic AI, while simultaneously assisting in the creation of industry standards covering governance, safety, and interoperability aspects. Tron now stands alongside prominent organizations such as Circle and JPMorgan as members of the AAIF initiative.

Tron's 2026 focus is AI, says founder

In a statement made last month, Sun declared that AI will "definitely" represent a primary focus area for the network throughout this year, asserting that Tron's characteristics of speed, scalability, and minimal fees make it ideally suited for facilitating agentic AI transactions.

Sun revealed that the network is actively engaged in developing infrastructure and establishing partnerships to accommodate AI-related demand. A recent illustration of this is the Bank of AI, which serves as a financial layer designed specifically for AI agents by AINFT, having initially deployed on Tron and BNB Chain during mid-February.

According to data from DeFiLlama, Tron currently leads all blockchains in terms of revenue generation across multiple time frames including the past 24 hours, seven days, and 30 days, recording figures of $1.01 million, $6.54 million and $25.58 million apiece.

In a statement made earlier this month, Sun suggested that a portion of the revenue generation is being propelled by AI-related activities on the network.

AI is scaling fast. When agents transact, demand shows up in the network metrics. TRON keeps leading on real usage.
