Three CryptoQuant Indicators Supporting Bitcoin's Traditional October Rally Narrative

On-chain Bitcoin analysis identified a 'possible floor' for BTC pricing dynamics in the opening days of October while buyer interest persisted despite challenging external conditions.

Bitcoin (BTC) maintains the potential to uphold its historically robust October track record, as blockchain data indicators suggest a localized price floor may be taking shape.

Key points:

  • Blockchain metrics indicated Bitcoin could maintain strength through October's conclusion, aligning with past seasonal trends.
  • Bitcoin holdings on trading platforms stood 1.7% below mid-September levels, with major holders refraining from liquidations.
  • Apparent demand metrics approached a shift toward positive territory for the second occurrence in 2026.

Bitcoin price examination identifies 'possible floor' indicators

Fresh research released via the crypto analytics service CryptoQuant on Monday revealed blockchain conditions existing in a state of "cautious optimism."

The leading cryptocurrency continues facing a complex mix of macroeconomic and geopolitical challenges, encompassing US government bond yields reaching 24-year peaks, climbing petroleum prices, and declining capital movement into exchange-traded products. Such circumstances have tempered enthusiasm regarding Bitcoin achieving a robust October showing.

"Now, signs of a potential bottom are emerging," contributor XWIN Research Japan stated in their CryptoQuant analysis.

Beginning from October's onset, market conditions have shifted to progressively favor cryptocurrency and risk-oriented investments. XWIN highlights diminishing anticipations of Federal Reserve interest-rate increases extending through 2027, enhancing prospects for improved investment flows. Simultaneously, financial markets anticipate increased clarity surrounding US domestic political circumstances following the imminent Midterm Elections.

"Less political uncertainty after the vote could help investors reassess allocations," XWIN elaborated further.

Exchange-held Bitcoin reserves, apparent demand measurements, and major holder accumulation patterns provide XWIN with justification to suggest that October's localized price floor may have already materialized.

The total BTC inventory held across trading platforms declined from 2.726 million units on Sept. 20 to 2.68 million as of Tuesday, representing a reduction of 1.7%, notwithstanding a slight uptick during the preceding seven days.

Concurrently, the aggregate holdings controlled by high-volume market participants, commonly referred to as whales, continue to exceed 3 million BTC. This cohort's inclination to maintain exposure has persisted even as the BTC/USD trading pair declined from $87,000 on Oct. 2 to approximately $80,000 by Oct. 8.

Bitcoin demand metrics maintain positive outlook through October

The apparent demand indicator, which evaluates freshly generated BTC against modifications in inactive supply, demonstrates that aggregate demand remains constructive.

This particular metric has registered negative values across 2026, with a short interval of positive 30-day measurements occurring during August's latter portion. Following that period, demand readings have been negative, though they have rebounded to approximately neutral territory as of the current week.

"These developments suggest conditions for a bottom are improving. Confirmation requires sustained ETF inflows, stronger US spot buying and continued demand recovery," XWIN said.

"'Uptober' need not mean uninterrupted gains: a correction can build the foundation for the next advance."

During the current week, digital asset management firm Bitwise indicated that Q3 blockchain metrics suggested "crypto spring" following historically notable market activity. Meanwhile, CryptoQuant CEO Ki Young Ju declared what he perceived as the commencement of a fresh cryptocurrency bull market cycle in late August, characterizing the bear market as "over."
