VanEck moves to pull Lido staked Ether ETF proposal from SEC consideration

The asset management firm had originally submitted its S-1 registration statement for the exchange-traded fund during October of the previous year.

Investment management firm VanEck has announced it is abandoning plans to move forward with its planned Lido staked Ether exchange-traded fund, putting aside the financial product that was designed to provide investors with access to the liquid staking token.

According to a filing submitted to the SEC on Wednesday, VanEck Digital Assets stated that it "does not intend to proceed with the planned distribution" of the trust's shares. The company provided no explanation for the reasoning behind this decision or whether VanEck plans to develop an alternative product in its place.

The asset manager had originally submitted the fund's S-1 registration statement on Oct. 16, 2025. The exchange-traded fund as proposed would have maintained holdings of Lido staked Ether (stETH) and was expected to accumulate certain staking rewards by virtue of holding stETH.

Cointelegraph reached out to VanEck Digital Assets for comment.
