The company behind Cardano, Input Output Group, has issued an urgent warning to its community members to stay away from its YouTube channel following the appearance on Friday of a livestream featuring what appears to be an AI-generated video of Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson advertising a cryptocurrency giveaway scam.
At the time this article was written, the fraudulent livestream had been broadcasting for close to two hours, displaying a QR code to viewers along with claims that it would "double your wealth."
"Please avoid interacting with the IO Group YouTube channel until further notice," the company said in a warning on its official X account, advising users against clicking links, sending funds or sharing personal information in response to content on the channel.
