Circle Announces Tazapay Acquisition to Boost Global USDC Payment Infrastructure

With $25 billion in annual transaction processing and payment distribution networks spanning over 100 markets, Tazapay will enhance Circle's global USDC payment capabilities.

In a move set to conclude in 2027, Circle has entered into an agreement to purchase Tazapay, a Singapore-headquartered platform specializing in international payment transfers.

According to a Tuesday statement from Circle, the deal's completion will depend on meeting standard closing requirements and securing authorization from the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

Processing over $25 billion in payment volume on an annualized basis, Tazapay works with more than 60 partners across banking and financial technology sectors, providing local payment infrastructure that reaches across more than 100 global markets. In August 2025, the company reported that its annualized payment volume stood at $10 billion.

Having previously participated in Tazapay's funding rounds, Circle was among the investors in the startup's August 2025 Series B financing, which pushed the company's total capital raised to $57.9 million, based on data from Traxcn. Ripple, the company behind XRP, also contributed capital to that funding round.

Digital stablecoins represent approximately 60% of the transaction volume processed through Tazapay, Circle disclosed. The payment company indicated that this purchase will strengthen its capabilities for facilitating payment flows to and from the Asia-Pacific region and developing markets.

This acquisition will increase Circle's capability to originate and terminate payments globally, near-instant and 24/7, which is a meaningful step toward making USDC the default payment rail for cross-border commerce.

Since 2025, Tazapay has served as a design partner within the Circle Payments Network framework. Circle emphasized that Tazapay's client base should experience no interruptions to their existing services, application programming interfaces, fee structures or customer assistance.

Neither party revealed the monetary details of the transaction. Circle had not provided an immediate response to Cointelegraph's inquiry seeking additional information.

During Tuesday's premarket trading session, Circle's (CRCL) shares on the New York Stock Exchange declined by over 2%, based on the latest data available from Yahoo Finance.
