Phase blockchain secures $45M from Unlimit creator as network goes live

The newly launched Phase network enables mobile device users to generate tokens by validating blockchain transactions and providing internet access to AI agents.

A blockchain platform called Phase, which enables mobile phone users to generate tokens through supporting AI service operations, has secured a funding commitment of $45 million from Kirill Eves, the founder of Unlimit.

On Thursday, Phase revealed the official launch of its blockchain network along with Phase Proxy, a specialized service designed to channel web requests from AI agents through internet connections that are shared by smartphone users.

According to statements made to Cointelegraph, Phase operates without external investors. The $45 million commitment from Eves will fund the platform's development for the initial two years while providing an additional two years of operational runway.

Websites routinely block or rate-limit automated traffic originating from data centers, even when an agent is acting on a legitimate user request. As agents take on more tasks across multiple websites, these restrictions are becoming a significant barrier to their adoption.

Cloudflare, a provider of internet infrastructure services, offers website owners tools to control AI traffic. The company's default settings for newly registered domains include blocking agent and training traffic on pages that display advertisements.

After establishing Unlimit in 2009, Eves transformed it into a payments company with global reach. According to Unlimit's announcement in December 2025, the company provides services to over 50,000 businesses across the globe.

How smartphone users earn PHASE

Mobile device users have the ability to become part of the Phase network by downloading the Phase application and can generate PHASE tokens through two primary activities: validating blockchain blocks and providing their internet connection via the proxy service.

Current flagship smartphones can deliver approximately 35–45 TOPS [trillions of operations per second] of AI processing performance, depending on the device, allowing them to run smaller open-weight AI models locally.

The level of participation is dynamically adjusted according to a device's current battery level and the quality of its connectivity.

Phase plans AI computing services in November

Mobile device users will gain the capability to contribute processing power once Phase rolls out its AI computing service, which is scheduled for launch in November. A second service also anticipated for November will facilitate the routing of requests across various AI models.

According to Phase, the company's roadmap includes developing its proprietary model and extending support beyond smartphones to include desktops, servers and graphics processing units.

A portion of the revenue generated from these various services would be allocated to purchasing PHASE tokens on the open market, with these tokens subsequently being distributed as rewards to node operators.
