Britain's FCA Launches Public Consultations on Decentralized Finance Guidelines and Digital Asset Regulations

Britain's financial regulator has initiated consultation processes only weeks following the launch of its updated cryptocurrency regulatory framework application system.

Britain's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has revealed the commencement of two separate consultation processes addressing how decentralized finance enterprises can adhere to its guidelines, alongside exceptions for specific digital assets in light of "recent legislative changes" within the jurisdiction.

According to a notice released on Wednesday, the FCA initiated consultation windows designed to assist DeFi enterprises in meeting the financial regulator's requirements concerning anti-money laundering protocols and financial crime prevention. Additionally, the authority unveiled a consultation addressing "exclusions from cryptoasset regulation," referencing newly enacted legislation within the nation.

Concerning decentralized finance, the FCA stated that the guidelines being proposed "seeks to clarify existing rules rather than establish new policy."
