Solana network achieves unprecedented milestone with 263K token launches in 24 hours

The Solana blockchain recorded its highest-ever daily token creation, with Pump.fun's memecoin launchpad responsible for the majority of new token deployments across all platforms.

A historic milestone was achieved by the Solana network as it recorded its highest daily token issuance ever, eclipsing the figures witnessed during the memecoin frenzy that characterized late 2024.

According to data from Solscan, Wednesday saw the creation of over 263,000 fresh Solana Program Library (SPL) tokens on the blockchain, establishing an unprecedented record. This figure dramatically exceeds the 40,000 to 50,000 tokens that were being issued daily during the height of the memecoin boom in December 2024.

Among the 40,360 tokens deployed via launchpad platforms, the memecoin launchpad Pump.fun dominated with 34,184 coin launches, as reported by Blockworks' tracking dashboard.

Launchpad platforms serve as tools that allow developers to effortlessly create, deploy and facilitate trading of memecoins without requiring advanced technical expertise. These platforms streamline the token deployment workflow and offer instant liquidity alongside market exposure for newly launched tokens.

According to DefiLlama data, Pump.fun currently holds the position of the top-earning Solana-native protocol based on daily revenue metrics, having generated $1.8 million over the last 24-hour period. On Friday of last week, Pump.fun experienced a brief moment where its daily revenue was surpassed by Fomo, a trading application that integrates cryptocurrency trading functionality with social networking elements similar to a social media platform.

Despite a downturn in memecoin market activity, Pump.fun was responsible for one-third of Solana's revenue during the first quarter of 2026, contributing $124 million of the network's total $342 million earnings.
