World Unveils World Money: A Self-Custody Financial Super App

Launching in over 150 nations worldwide, World Money merges stablecoin transactions, cryptocurrency rewards programs, and digital asset trading capabilities within a single self-custodial platform.

World has introduced World Money, a self-custody financial "super app" that integrates stablecoin payment capabilities, digital asset reward mechanisms and cryptocurrency trading functionality.

According to World, the deployment commenced Thursday across over 150 nations, with available features determined by geographic region. The application enables users to transmit supported cryptocurrencies, stablecoins included, directly to another user's World username, deposit qualifying digital assets to generate rewards, and execute buy and sell transactions for digital assets via integrated exchanges.

The application provides users with access to "Mini Apps" including Kalshi, Credit and Morpho. Through a collaboration with Stripe, users gain the ability to fund their wallet accounts and purchase stablecoins using Apple Pay, with this functionality initially available to users based in the US.

Since launching in May 2023, World has continuously enhanced the financial functionality of World App, which initially integrated World ID alongside a cryptocurrency wallet, stablecoin transfer capabilities and digital token trading features.

In October 2024, World unveiled World App 3.0, positioning it as a "super app for humans," which incorporated third-party Mini Apps alongside a Vault feature designed for earning returns on digital assets. In November 2025, the company initiated a pilot program for virtual bank accounts in the US prior to expanding availability to additional countries one month later, enabling users to receive paychecks and bank deposits with automatic conversion into USDC.

According to World, the introduction of World Money marks the separation of its identity verification and financial service offerings into two distinct dedicated applications.

The World ID App manages identity verification processes and credentials, whereas World Money delivers wallet functionality, payment processing and additional financial capabilities. According to the company, current users of World App and World ID App can leverage their existing account credentials to access World Money.

Tools for Humanity, the organization co-founded by Sam Altman and Alex Blania that creates technology solutions for the World network, operates World Money.
