Securitize shares surge more than 10% following debut of tokenized American stocks on Solana blockchain

Through its latest product launch, Securitize provides qualified investors with tokenized equity access to 12 American corporations, complete with shareholder voting privileges, dividend distributions, and continuous trading capabilities.

Shares of Securitize experienced an approximate 10% increase on Thursday following the firm's introduction of tokenized representations of prominent American equities on the Solana blockchain, providing qualified investors with access to stock positions supported by actual underlying shares that maintain both dividend and voting privileges.

This newly introduced product, branded as Securitize Stocks, features tokenized equity positions in Apple, Nvidia, Microsoft, Tesla, and an additional eight companies trading on US exchanges. Each token maintains a one-to-one backing relationship with actual underlying shares and will commence trading during extended market sessions via Securitize's registered broker-dealer infrastructure, as detailed in the Thursday announcement.

According to Securitize, these tokens constitute security entitlements as defined under Article 8 of the Uniform Commercial Code and maintain all relevant shareholder advantages, encompassing both dividends and voting rights. The firm has additionally outlined intentions to make these digital assets accessible on tokenized securities platforms currently under development by both the New York Stock Exchange and OKXICE, although neither entity has announced definitive launch dates.

Settlement of the tokens will occur in USDC on the Solana network, with Jump Trading delivering liquidity via market-making operations.

Trading operations will commence during extended market hours, with the company targeting an expansion to around-the-clock trading on a timeline yet to be specified.

In addition to trading functionality, the firm is investigating additional applications for these tokenized equity instruments. As stated by Securitize, Ripple Prime intends to facilitate the rollout and investigate integration of these assets into its institutional trading solutions, while the decentralized lending protocol Aave has been highlighted as a prospective platform for utilizing these stocks as loan collateral.

Ripple Prime had not provided a response to Cointelegraph's inquiry for further information by the time of publication.

Securitize stock experiences two rallies within one week

Thursday represented the second significant intraday price increase for Securitize equity this week. The stock registered an almost 8% gain during early Tuesday trading, coinciding with the company's announcement of a collaboration with South Korean technology corporation LG CNS to investigate tokenized funds, equities and stablecoins designed for financial institutions.

This South Korean collaboration additionally encompasses infrastructure development that may link domestic financial institutions with international capital markets. The partnership follows a memorandum of understanding signed in September with Dubai's Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority aimed at supporting regulated tokenization programs in Dubai.

According to data from Yahoo Finance, Securitize equity has appreciated approximately 54% throughout the past month.

This expansion by the company occurs against a backdrop of increasing growth in the tokenized real-world assets sector. Information from RWA.xyz indicates that distributed asset value, excluding stablecoins, achieved $38.88 billion as of Thursday, representing an increase from $25.36 billion recorded one year prior.
