Record-Breaking $50M Tokenized Fundraising Achieved by Bitfinex Securities

In a landmark transaction, Bitfinex Securities successfully facilitated a $50 million capital raise for Alkemya through tokenized securities representing partnership stakes in valuable nickel holdings.

In what represents its most substantial transaction to date, Bitfinex Securities has successfully concluded a $50 million capital raise through tokenization for metals enterprise Alkemya, demonstrating the growing momentum of the platform's tokenized real-world assets (RWAs) portfolio expansion.

The fundraising initiative centered on ALKN, a digital security token that represents limited partnership stakes in Alkemya Metacore SCSp, an entity based in Luxembourg, according to an announcement the companies provided to Cointelegraph on Thursday. The partnership maintains ownership of approximately 7 million meters of nickel wire with 99.99% purity, which independent assessors have valued at roughly $1.64 billion, the companies stated.

In communications with Cointelegraph, Bitfinex Securities confirmed that this $50 million fundraising achievement exceeded its prior record of $30 million, which was established through USTBL, a tokenized product backed by US Treasury securities and issued in accordance with El Salvador's Digital Asset Law. To date, the platform has successfully executed seven capital raising initiatives and brought 16 different assets to market.

A company representative from Alkemya confirmed that ALKN represents the organization's inaugural venture into tokenization. The digital token provides investors with fractional ownership stakes that can be transferred digitally within the partnership structure, enabling Alkemya to secure financing leveraging its substantial nickel asset holdings.

The capital secured through this raise will be deployed by Alkemya toward the commercialization of specialized nickel products designed for various uses, including semiconductor applications. Further ALKN tokens will continue to be offered to qualified investors via the Bitfinex Securities platform through Oct. 15. Trading on secondary markets will not commence until the conclusion of the subsequent fundraising round at the earliest.
