Dinaro Brings Slovenia Into EU's MiCA Electronic Money Token Register

Through the electronic money institution Dinaro, Slovenia has made its debut on the EU's MiCA stablecoin register, while the latest update incorporated two additional CASPs.

For the first time, Slovenia has made an entry into the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) register, specifically within the electronic money token (EMT) issuers category.

The Slovenia-based electronic money institution known as Dinaro, which operates under the supervision of the Bank of Slovenia, was incorporated into the EMT list during Wednesday's latest update from the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) register.

Based on information from its website, Dinaro offers payment services that encompass both card issuing and acquiring capabilities, and the company states it maintains Mastercard principal membership status. The inclusion of this entity represents the inaugural appearance of any Slovenia-based issuer within ESMA's EMT dataset.

Wednesday's update also brought modifications to the EU register of authorized crypto-asset service providers (CASPs), which currently contains 325 companies on its list. The additions included Partners Banka, a Czech lending institution, and Volksbank Beilstein-Ilsfeld-Abstatt from Germany.

The register has removed the listing for Altlift, a Czech company that initially appeared on the MiCA CASP register during early July with permissions to execute and transmit client orders and provide crypto-asset advice. The authorization notification for this company bore a June 30 date.

With Dinaro's inclusion, the EMT register has grown to 43 entries in total. Meanwhile, the asset-referenced token (ART) register continues to remain empty, and the non-compliant entity list showed no changes, maintaining its count at 167.
