Digital asset total valuation surges past $3 trillion milestone amid Bitcoin and altcoin gains

With Bitcoin hovering around $86,000 and major alternative cryptocurrencies posting gains, escalating derivatives leverage indicates heightened speculative trading throughout digital asset markets.

Digital currency markets temporarily surpassed the $3 trillion valuation threshold during Tuesday's trading session as Bitcoin alongside leading alternative coins continued a widespread upward movement, with expanding leverage signaling increased speculative participation across the sector.

Bitcoin (BTC) changed hands near the $86,000 mark, reflecting approximately 4.5% growth across the preceding 24-hour period, per data from CoinGecko. Ether (ETH) recorded increases of roughly 2.3% reaching $2,745, meanwhile XRP climbed 5.7% to hit $1.53 and Solana (SOL) pushed forward 3.6% to reach $117. BNB recorded a 1.6% increase, whereas Dogecoin (DOGE) stood out among major market capitalization assets, surging approximately 11%.

The aggregate cryptocurrency market capitalization hovered marginally beneath the $3 trillion benchmark as of publication time, representing roughly 4.3% appreciation compared to the prior day's figures.

According to a Bloomberg report, outstanding positions in perpetual futures contracts throughout cryptocurrency markets had risen to approach $160 billion, marking the most elevated reading since the conclusion of October 2025. Approximately $920 million worth of short positions faced liquidation throughout Monday's session as valuations climbed, the report indicated, suggesting that leverage levels could magnify price movements regardless of direction.

American spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds similarly attracted close to $1 billion during Monday's trading, representing their most substantial single-session capital inflow since October 2025.

Looking at lower market capitalization rankings, the AKE token from Akedo has surfaced as among the week's most significant gainers. Occupying the 208th position among all 8,161 actively traded cryptocurrencies catalogued on CoinMarketCap, AKE has appreciated roughly 170% throughout the past seven-day stretch, elevating its market capitalization to approximately $1.2 billion, as of the time of publication.

The artificial intelligence gaming and content-focused token attained a record price peak of $0.1467 this past Sunday before experiencing a decline exceeding 60% from that zenith. Market participants have conducted transactions totaling $108.9 million in AKE value during the most recent 24-hour timeframe.
