Hack VC's former partner Hsin-Ju Chuang deceased at 37
The blockchain industry executive who established Dystopia Labs had occupied high-level positions at both Solana and Stellar prior to her tenure at cryptocurrency venture capital company Hack VC.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner has confirmed that Hsin-Ju Chuang, who formerly held a partner position at cryptocurrency venture capital company Hack VC, passed away at the age of 37.
Officers from the California Highway Patrol arrived at a location on southbound Interstate 15 south of Field Road on Aug. 24, where they found Chuang, who was declared deceased at the location. The cause of death has not been made public by authorities at this time. Cointelegraph reached out to the California Highway Patrol seeking further details but had not received any response at the time this article was published.
Chuang's LinkedIn profile shows that she established Dystopia Labs and held previous positions as head of growth at both Solana and Stellar. In 2021, she joined Hack VC in the role of venture partner, later advancing to the positions of partner and head of platform in 2025.
On Wednesday, Alexander Pack, co-founder and managing partner at Hack VC, expressed that the company was "shocked and saddened" by the news of Chuang's passing and extended condolences to her family members, friends and all those who were close to her.
Pack stated that the firm had not been in direct communication with Chuang for over 10 months and had no knowledge of the circumstances that led to her death. "We have no further information, and only wish to ask everyone to be respectful of those who are grieving," he added.
Prior to her passing, Chuang had made public accusations that Hack VC had treated her poorly during her employment at the company and stated that she planned to make public evidence that would substantiate her claims.
