On Aug. 11, Cointelegraph published a report stating that Bitcoin mining company Riot Platforms had entered into a 20-year arrangement to deliver 191 megawatts of power capacity from its campus in Rockdale, Texas, to a "leading frontier AI" enterprise.
According to a Bloomberg report that cited individuals with direct knowledge of the agreement, the client in question was Anthropic, with the transaction carrying an estimated value of approximately $9 billion.
Earlier this month, Cointelegraph reported on Nvidia's agreement to purchase Hugging Face in a deal worth $12.9 billion, which represents an expansion of the company's presence in the software applications and development tools utilized for creating artificial intelligence solutions.
According to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang, Hugging Face provides services to a community exceeding 18 million developers while maintaining a repository of more than three million models.
Through this acquisition, Nvidia would gain ownership of a prominent platform dedicated to AI models at a time when technology corporations are intensifying competition spanning semiconductor chips, software applications, and developer tool ecosystems.
